Surrogate Zarah Hilliard thinks there’s nothing more rewarding than giving the gift of life to expectant parents. “This is for a greater cause,” she told ABC 10 – San Diego.
However, that joyous emotion is not universal. Italy, Germany, France, Iceland, Spain, and China are among the nations that have prohibited the practice due to moral and ethical issues. Pope Francis noted it in his annual State of the World address, asking for an international prohibition and comparing the practice to “trafficking” and “exploitation.”
