Our CEO and Founder, Jeff Hu, was recently featured in a Wall Street Journal article discussing the rising costs of surrogacy in the United States.

Jeff highlighted how compensation for surrogates has changed in recent years, stating, “Typical compensation for a surrogate is $50,000 in the U.S., which is up 35% from five years ago.” He explained that intended parents must also cover additional costs such as medications, egg or sperm donations, and health insurance for the surrogate.

However, Jeff emphasized that while surrogacy comes with financial challenges, working with a reputable agency helps protect both surrogates and intended parents. Agencies like SurrogateFirst manage the full process from matching families with surrogates to handling legal contracts, providing counseling, and ensuring medical and emotional support throughout the journey.

“The role of an agency goes beyond logistics,” Jeff noted. “It’s about guiding families through one of the most emotional and meaningful experiences of their lives while making sure surrogates feel fully supported.”

A big thank you to The Wall Street Journal for highlighting these important insights on surrogacy and the realities families face when pursuing their dream of parenthood.

This recognition underscores our commitment at SurrogateFirst to supporting both intended parents and surrogates with compassion, transparency, and care. Helping families, one blessing at a time.
